Taking part through making
Ormanköy calls its workshop settings “işlikler”. They provide space to handle materials, try ideas and share experiences. Families can discuss the daily mix and age-appropriate arrangements with the team.
Cooking, art and expression
Cooking activities introduce dough, fruit and measuring, alongside sharing a table. Art and ebru include painting, printing, cutting, pasting and designing with reused materials. Different materials offer different ways to express an idea. Storytelling uses pictures and imagination to create opportunities for listening and speaking.
Garden, farm and sensory exploration
Planting seedlings and caring for animals are examples provided for the garden and farm workshop. Noticing a living thing’s needs makes care a direct experience. Sensory exploration introduces different textures. Water play brings flow, quantity and balance into play. Families can ask about preparation, conditions and participation.
Thinking and playing together
Chess and thinking games involve considering moves and sharing the structure of a game. Life-skills activities connect everyday subjects such as traffic with play. Science and space activities provide another setting for children’s questions.
During a visit
Look at how materials are presented, how teachers accompany children and how participation develops. Share your child’s interests and ask how activities are selected for their group. Discuss the balance of free play and planned experiences. Current programme information and a conversation with the team provide a fuller picture.
